When to Wear a Wedding Suit with or Without a Vest
You've seen it both ways: men wearing a wedding suit with a vest and men without them. The question is, which is right for your groom?

When should the groom wear a vest to a wedding?

Wedding Theme
It is difficult to pin down what the theme of a wedding might be. Are you going for something more traditional? Then men might want to wear a waistcoat with their suit. If you are anticipating a lot of standing up or sitting down during your wedding, then maybe the groom will want to avoid a vest unless they want to be constantly buttoning and unbuttoning it.
This is an aspect where a fashion designer can really help the groom. Fashion designers will ask the groom questions about their wedding--what is the bride wearing, what are the groomsmen wear... to decide what style of wedding suit would be best for the groom.
Wedding Season
The season of the wedding changes what grooms should wear.
At what time of year is your wedding happening? Men may want to avoid wearing a vest under their suit in the summer when it tends to be hot. But in colder seasons, grooms may be more comfortable if they layered up, even if it is with just a wedding vest.
Body Shape
Wedding vests tend to show off a man's body shape a lot more. If the groom is comfortable with that, then they should definitely wear a waistcoat. Grooms may also consider wearing a vest that contrasts with their suit, as that brings more attention to their body shape.
