2020 Tested our Resolves | Stephen Voyce Shares His Story
2020 tested our resolves, even my own, but I think it forced us to slow down, it made us see how distracted we had become with the routines we followed and how disconnected we had gotten from ourselves. But from that discomfort comes healing and that healing begins when we acknowledge how important it is to nurture our minds, to take care of our mental health. I know the world will one day find its way back to itself and when it does, I hope the lessons we’ve been asked to learn now follow us there.
Silk Face Mask with Guitar Design
A covered mouth alludes to being silenced. This is a mask that encourages speaking up. We need to destigmatize mental health, an issue that touches upon each of us. It does not discriminate by race, age, gender or any other demographic trait. No one is immune. Many suffer in silence.
#MindfulArtxMentalHealth highlights purposeful works of art and encourages conversation about mental health. The masks are a canvas for the unique artwork of artists/patients from Les Impatients, a local non-profit organization. Every piece tells the story of an artist struggling with mental health issues, sharing their journey to recovery through the power of creative expression. 10% of all proceeds are given back to the community to support and raise awareness for mental health.
Let's come together as a community to normalize talking about mental health, dispel the stigma and support those living with mental health issues. By sharing a thought or a story, your voice may open discussion and a door to helping someone's struggle.
