3 Things You Need to Know About Bespoke Suits
We know that there might be a lot you don't know about the process of making a bespoke suit. That's okay. There is a first time for everything. Here are the things you need to know about bespoke suits.
How is a Bespoke Suit Made?
At Nathon Kong, we know the experience of making a bespoke suit needs to be personal and meaningful. We make bespoke suits in collaboration with a nonprofit organization, Les Impatients. Les Impatients holds art classes for artists with mental health difficulties as a therapeutic program. The suit linings incorporate the artworks made by members of Les Impatients and tells the story of an artist's journey to mental health recovery. 10% of your bespoke suit purchase is donated to Les Impatients so that they can continue to support these Montreal artists.
The process of making a bespoke suit starts when you book an appointment and receive an invitation to visit us at our private showroom in heart of downtown Montreal. Once you arrive, we will look at and choose the fabric and artwork we will make your suit from. Then we will take a digital scan of your body, taking about 450 measurement in 15 to 30 seconds.
Finally, when the suit is complete, you will come back for a final presentation and fitting to make sure the suit is comfortable and to make any adjustment if necessary.
How Far in Advance Should You Get Your Bespoke Wedding Suit
When you need to order a bespoke suit, you want to know you are going to get it on time for your wedding or event. For the most part, it takes about 4 to 6 weeks to make a bespoke suit if there aren't any interruptions. Sometimes slight adjustments are needed after the first fitting of the completed bespoke suit, which can take about a week to make. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time before your wedding so we can give you the best bespoke suit experience.
How do You Clean a Bespoke Suit
Bespoke suit can be expensive and you'll want to keep it looking good for as long as possible. Try to dry clean your bespoke suit as little as you can. Frequent washing can dull a bespoke suit's fabrics over time. If you need to freshen up your bespoke suit, try steaming or pressing it, and be sure to ask your tailor about how to clean your bespoke suit.
Wear a Bespoke Suit that Tells Your Story
At Nathon Kong, we focus on making a suit that resonates with our customers. We work with them to select artworks and fabrics that are meaningful to them. Each bespoke suit is crafted with care and needs to be in line with our purpose: to create a suit that gives back to our community and that tells the story of our customers and the artists' recovery from mental health troubles.
